Steve Darling is proud to call Port Coquitlam home. Alongside his wife, Jen, a lifelong Port Coquitlam resident, he is raising their two children, Hayley and Hunter, in the community they love. A Senior Broadcast Journalist with Proactive, Steve previously spent more than 20 years as a network anchor and reporter with Global Television, covering communities across British Columbia and gaining firsthand insight into the opportunities and challenges facing local governments.

What I'm Working On

My Priorities

Keep Property Taxes Low

Maintain Metro Vancouver's lowest property taxes, putting more money back in residents' pockets.

Revitalize Downtown

Continue the revitalization of Downtown Port Coquitlam. Off to a great start, with the best yet to come.

Best Sporting Community in B.C.

Make Port Coquitlam the best sporting community in British Columbia, with facilities families are proud of.

Support Our Seniors

Take care of the builders of our community and make sure seniors are supported.

Get the Basics Right

Fix potholes, pick up garbage on time, and keep Port Coquitlam clean.

  • Opened the soccer hub at Gates Park and announced a new Multi-Sport Complex for the North Side.
  • Delivered key flood mitigation with the new Cedar Drainage Pump Station and Maple Creek Drainage Pump Station.
  • Passed bylaw amendments to remove outdated commercial restrictions and expand entertainment and hospitality options.
